Well thanks to the intelligence of Mitsu's finest engineers i am in need of a new water pump, anyone bought one and know what the price is?

Thats not the real problem tho but it was the cause of it, water pump siezes, timing belt gets hot and starts to melt. Then gets clogged up in crank pulley and the cam gears turn thru the teeth of the belt and eventually break the belt. Next the engine stalls luckily 20m from my driveway after most likely bending everything in the path of the untimed cams.......time to rebuild the engine

Interesting although the engine is not worth 3K, much better option to rebuild yourself.

Which engine is this... the 3.0 is non-interferance and shouldnt bend anything when it loses timing.

Thats true it doesnt over run. Its still a stupid design running the waterpump off the back side of the timing belt, If it was run off the alternator belt u would notice there is a problem before it makes a mess rather than waiting for a belt to melt away behind a plastic casing with the only indication being a burning smell as it destroys itself 1 minute later.
