Can anyone tell me the optimum ignition timing for a TB42v on gas? Cheers.

Of course, I don't mean a TB42v, I've just got fat fingers.

It will vary between car's, take it to a dyno and get them to advance it on that.
Set carby up so its at like 3000rpm, apparantly you can do it with a vacuum gauge - you just keep advancing until the vaccuum doesnt advance anymore then turn it back a couple of notches.

I never use a timing light on anything. You want as much advance as you can get without pinging. Keep advancing distributor until motor starts to ping. Then back off a little as a precaution. To then stop pinging when on petrol, keep premium in tank. Costs more but you hardly use it and you gain more from the LPG. If you're fussy, get distributor regraphed for LPG too.

If your running points set the dwell before setting the timing.
