ok, ive been offered a decent amount of $$ for my trusty ol' MQ shortie... 2"bodylift.... 2"springs, 33MTRs (new) chrome sunraysias (sp?) sterio, other goodies, (2 years wortha work done myself)
my question is, ive wanted a GQ shorty for ages but havent because of the work i have put into the MQ since ive owned it, BUT, with the money ive been saving for a SPOA and the $$ ive been offered for my car, id have very close on the amount needed to get a shorty GQ
so what do yas reckon..... stick with the old modded MQ? or go for a stock GQ??
im after a reliable daily driver and something i can build to be capable on the rocks on the weekends
decisions decisions........... help

I'm not sure what you have priced a GQ for but there are some great deals around.. I picked up a GQ shorty a few weeks back (auto, factory rear diff lock, overhead console, 4.2 petrol) in good condition for $6K.. Only probs were 1 dead door hinge, 1 dead shock, small crack in windscreen, and a cracked rear tail light.. If your planning on using it as a daily driver, I'd try to snag a good deal on a GQ Shorty and take the offer on the MQ if the $$$ is right.

Once you've had coils you'll never look back!
6k for a shorty....... if you find anymore like that please ship to Melbourne..... the more the better!!!!! Only seen a couple for that sort of price and they were rough, real rough........

the stock GQ will probably go where the mq did and from there you can go better still.

you just need more mods on an MQ, yours is pretty capable i hear.
ever compared the two?
when i moved from leaf to coils i noticed that the tyres seemed to move with the terrain better, the leaves seemed to allow the tyres to bounce across the top and the net effect was less traction.
be interested to see how yours went compared to a similar gq shorty.
