G'day, was having a look under the 45 and found that a nut holding the leaf spring u bolt on the driver's side was gone, and the rest on the driver's side were loose    Anyway, I replaced that nut and tightened it all up, but the problem is that the axle housing has been moving back and forth along the spring, making the centre pin guide hole oval shaped. :x Will I have to strip the whole housing down so I can weld up and redrill that hole?

how bad is the hole ovalised?

is it to the point where the pins will fall out?

Lets just say that the hole is about twice as big as it should be.
I'm looking at getting new suspension all round and the holes welded up and redrilled, all up 1770 bux. Cross Country 4x4 make these springs, anybody heard anything good/bad about 'em?

The 45 is booked in for Tuesday morning to be fitted up with new springs- could do it myself, but only 220 bux labour, and anyway, not in much condition to fit up springs after working all night.
New suspension comin

Did you notice a shudder in the steering at all, when u-bolts get loose they usualy start to shudder through the front end. When i run my swampers on my zook(unbalanced) the vibes make the ubolts come loose, even with locktight and split washers on. Its usualy noticable when the u-bolts come use, cause the front end will shudder.
Layto....

Yes, there is a shudder in the steering wheel, plus a clunk when changing direction (froward/reverse) :x

Got the new suspenders and it's cool, still gotta bed in, plus I've got the front set up fairly stiff because I'm putting a PTO winch on soon.

Ramped it today. Image
