Steering Wheel Compatibility?

I know that I could head down to the wreckers and start measuring, but I thought asking here could save me some frigging around.

Is the spline on the steering wheel of a GQ Patrol the same as that on a Pulsar, Skyline or any other common Nissan car?
I want a new one and good Patrol steering wheels are hard to come by at the ‘right price’ in my local area.

Yep the splines are the same. I have a N14 SSS Pulsar steering wheel on my GQ and it works well. It has been on there since OCT04 and have been very happy.
They are a little larger than the aftermartket stuff. Not by much though. But for me this is a good thing though. As I can still read most of my guages. But had a short drive in a mates ute just before X-mas and he has an aftermarket steering wheel. And I found it to be a tad to small. It drove well I just couldnt see many of the guages with out moving to much.

I paid $80 from memory for the SSS wheel (but hay since its a sss it must make the car go faster - better than a hiclone). That was from a Wrecker in Bendigo. A std pulsar one should be around the $50 mark.

No worry's John.
And another benifit id they used a different method of sticking the grip to the metal ring. So now there is no stupid twist.

Does the horn work with the Pulsar wheel on it?
