Yeah we all know it has an independant front Blah Blah Blah.....
Aside from the features that have been the same for the last 7 years, has anyone actually got anything constructive to say?
I reckon the new Diesel engine should go pretty good.
What are peoples views about the new Turbo diesel Automatic ?
Who is getting one?

well in an attempt to have things thrown at me, i reckon just give it a few months and you'll be used to it
i saw a new bottom of the range one at the kalgoorlie store and i cant say it looked like something i'd own.
But a fully specced up sr5 or something could probably look pretty sweet (i hope)

I reckon it looks ok in black - kinda hides the front a bit.

Black turbo diesel dual cab drove past me on Monday. It looked pretty massive. Trying to get that american F-truck look? My 84 hilux has the 1KZ turbo diesel and this thing blew my doors off. The bloke driving it was flogging it... fair bit of black smoke puffing out. Kept up with him for a while but he could easily accelerate away from me. Thought that it looked alright in the flesh but give me an 84 lux any day.

I haven't seen one yet but they are a bit bigger than earlier lux's?
Does that mean they have the 65" wide Tacoma rear diff?
Can someone find out?

I reckon it's a whole lot better than the last model. The black dual Cab SR5 with a few accesories looks tough enough.
What i dont like however is the relatively tall diff ratio's 3.583:1. I'd rather have 4.1 or 4.3's so you can fit bigger tyres and have acceptable gearing. The new diesel, is much improved and 120kw should provide adequate towing capability. Apparently the cabin is much larger so you dont have to be a dwarf or a kid to fit in the back seats. I'm looking at buying a new 4x4 now for myself (in addition to the Family GU Patrol) , but am going to hold off until, the new Navara is released before the end of the year.
For me it's all a power game. I've heard from a couple of different (reliable) sources that the new Navara will have a new 3.3 litre 4cyl Turbo diesel with around 140Kw, and possibly a 6 speed manual. I want a diesel that goes hard, and 120kw is only just sufficient in my mind.
Well see what happens by the end of the year, and if Nissan dissappoints me i will go the Lux.

yeh looks Grimace,
but i didnt really like the last model hilux when it came out, grew on me.
The 175kw is definantly a step up from the previous engines. This is more powerful than the base model commodore/falcon utes isnt it? in which case, low lux's might actually be worth ricing up from now on

saw a white sr5 v6 4.0 yesterday arvo and i dont know if i like it any better in the flesh... he chirped it up takin off from the lights .. dont think it was intentional.. i think there is too much panel there to get scratched if you ever ventured of road. how about if your a tradey you'd need to be at least 6" to get stuff in the back

Whats with all this "it will grow on you" stuff. I cant say I've ever had a butt ugly vehicle grow on me to the point of buying one. Hate to say it but if I were to buy a new ute toyota is scratched. I dont particularly see the point in buying a new 4x4 anyway. If you buy a new 4x4 then your really only getting it for road work anyway.

toyota site lists track width as 1540mm (60 inches) so no tacoma rear diff

I reckon those who are pre-occupied with all that 'Grimace ' stuff must have something to hide...or maybe something to defend....
I reckon in time, they will be everywhere on the streets.......
