Does anyone know if the later model Courier\B2600 LS Diffs (or diff centres) can be swapped into an earlier model (93)?

don't waste your time with limos. even if you can get them and the price is good and they fit, the almost nonexistant improvement in offroad performance and the subsequent significant loss of on-road manners in definitely not worth it.

can't you get an airlocker for the rear at least? do it. you'll love it.

Nope, no air lockers yet. I have a friend that has a detroit locker in the rear of his (same model). He had to machine the locker and modify the axles. 5 years and no breakages. Looks like I will have to do the same.

ugh that sucks.. how about we swap some hilux axles under there? it's live front axle swap time yeah! (how hard can it be, eh? ;)

seriously limo's just aren't worth the effort to fit them - start looking for a set of patrol axles or something to slap under there.

ARB are in development for an air locker for the Couriers. Email them and ask what models part number RD123 will fit when it's released.

Was talking to the minister of finance about this just to other day. Was thinking of GQ's as leafs seem to be much less problematic for the SAS conversion. This may become a chrissy project along with a 3.8 V6 swap. It all depends on $$$, if I can keep the project under $10 000, then it could be a goer.

GQ's are coil, but you can chop off the coil mounts and put leafs on them - as you could for any axle set really. GQ axles might be a bit wide, you'd want to measure before you started buying/chopping. for my money an 80 (or bundera if the 80 is too wide) swap onto the front would have to be the easiest - not exactly awesome articulation but the fabrication is simple (coil perches x 2, control arm mounts x 2, panhard rod mount x1).

why the engine swap? is the 2.6 dead? are you going to go hilux gearbox/transfer (and transfer  ) when you engine swap?

$10k will be tight especially if you want lockers, even if you're prepared to do a lot of the work yourself.

I'm keen to be involved if you need someone to do chop[ping and welding type stuff.
