I broke the remote resevoir connection off my shock recently (removing soon to verify which bit has snapped) when a spring when AWOL.

Does anyone know if it is possible to weld (a new connection back to the body of the shock. FYI it's a nickel-coated Edelbrock xtreme.

TIA

Id get someone who knows what there doing to do it. If you dont let it breath you risk the shock exploding rather violently from the heat.

hey gribble, no exploding issues - it's nitrogen and it all escaped when the connection was snapped off.

and wendleness - it better not be a right-off it's only a couple of months old (you know how well I treat things too) ! :bad-words:

Expect a little TIG love might save the day. Has a car valve for recharging on the canister so that bit's sorted.

can't you just use hose clamps, duct tape or zip ties? seriously
isn't it just the remote canister mount that's broken? or is it actually a fitting for the gas?

looks like where the fitting goes in the shock. Haven't closely inspected yet so hopefully it's just the end of the line that needs repairing (don't even know if you can replace those lines as a screw in/out part?) but may have damaged the thread :(

Id use a mig, less heat. Do short welds. Worked for me.
