urgant cant engage low range

went to engage low range the other day and it would'nt go pass
4hi it's mk patrol with 5 speed ive had a look under it and i
cant seem to see anything that could be stopping it from
engageing would this mean that my transfer case is stuffed

you should try putting car in reverse and go backwards about 20 metres, put in neutral and try 4lo again. also check condition of linkages to the transfer, can sometimes cause dramas, also check oil level in g/b and transfer. and if problems persist see your local g/b mechanic.

yeah tryed going backwards and forwards oil is fine and linkages seem fine

hate to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds like a trip to the mechanics is in order. luckily it shouldn't cost too much.

yeah it has 2in body i just got price on one fitted for just under a grand
but i think i might need a new clutch as well so this means i need to
find that money tree

if your problems started after the bodylift, it is probably because the shifter is hitting the floor, before it can engage the low range.

nar lifted it ages ago its been working
