Ok here it is!

I have recently fixed a blown head gasket in my 3.5l slug. I have put a pirahna electronic ignition setup in it also! I got her started for the first time yesterday and tuned it up and kept it running until pretty warm! Tried to start it 10 minutes later and it wont start.

Started first go this arvo kept it going until warm then stopped it. It started up again straight away. 5 minutes later i could not get it started!

Any idea what is goin on cos its doin my head in! :bad-words:

- i have spark at all time
- i have plenty of fuel at all time(maybe a little to much, running a bit rich i think)

Plz Help

Coil?

Hmm .. it does sound like a coil. Or maybe fuel evaporation but you said you had enough of that.

What model Rangie you got. A common mistake for some people is to put on an electronic ignition but not get the full 12 volts to it (or the coil if not running a resister). If your starter is worn and needs more current when it's warm to crank it then that could result in a further voltage drop to the dizzy and maybe no start??

You can usually tell when they are lacking voltage because they are hard to start but sometimes as you let go of the key after cranking (thus releasing enough voltage to the dizzy) the beasty will fire up. Maybe an outside chance but it doesn't cost anything to have a look.

Cheers
