I have 50mm in mine. Which is about the most you can go without having to fark round with steering extensions, fuel line extensions, dropping the radiator and gear lever mods. The higher the bodylift, the more things youll need to fix just to make it all work

I got a 3" and its fine..
Depends if your doing other mods, If your moving your diff forward then go a 2" but I've got a 2" spring lift and 3" body and 33's fit fine with this. It was the cheaper option for a lift to fit the bigger tyres.
Also with a 3" body I can fit big shock hoops in to get LONGER shocks, the front has heaps of flex with the weight of the engine so can't go wrong.
Ideally i'd go a 3" spring and 2" body but thats more $$$ you need to extend driveshafts etc, steering then becomes an issue aswell.

i got a 3" body lift and 3" spring lift, clear 35's no worries, and didnt have to touch the radiator cause it is a v8, runnin a thermo....
had to use a snake racing steering ext., and extend petrol filler hose....yhats bout it , took an afternoon to complete....

I got a 3" in the Surf and had to do all the above mentioned. But its what I wanted when I had the IFS, now I have SAS and front diff moved forward and 4" spring lift I only need a 1 or 2" body lift and still fit 35's.

I have 2" BL, but will be pulling it out. I am running 37's with tubbed guards, plenty of room
My felling is the lower the COG the better.
If you want to fit larger tyes cut the body
