Outer Limits 4x4 Board

i just bought a new centre difflock vacuum actuator. but i cant get the old one off. to make it clear..i have removed from the car. i have also removed the vacuum diaphram bit. now i have the main pin and the fork looking bit left. how do i pull the pin out? it looks like a small hollow pin holding it in..do i drill this out or belt it out? i am supposed to be goin on a 4by trip today..hope to have it done

i have completely changed my center diff lock but i dont remember any hollow pin.

by the actuator , im guessing that is the round part that the hoses connect to that moves the locking in and out. this was held in with just 2 bolts one at the top and one at the bottom.

yep i know the two bolts. but how do i get the actuator "fork" off? i need to pull the long pin thing out. i have a pic will try to upload and give you a link to see..

the actuator fork and assembly is held in by 4 bolts (2 at top , 2 at bottom) then the whole unit should pull out towoards the drivers side

the rest of the assembly , you should disconnect the front tailshaft then there is about 4 or 5 bolts around the housing holding it into the transfer cas and there is 1 bolt inside the unit (where the fork came out) and the whole unit should pull off forwards

i just got wat you were trying to tell me!!!! i have the old unit out of the car. i even have removed the old vacuum diaphram bit. now i am left with a fork attached to a rod which moves back and forth to lock the diff in or out. now i need to remove that rod to pull the fork off. the new part i have is the vacuum diaphram bit with a new rod attached. it looks as though there is a small pin holding it in place

my Haynes manual has the following, once you've got the unit out (how you have it):
5) To dismantle the actuator unit, unscrew and remove the differential lock warning switch. Retain any shims fitted.
6)Drive out and extract the actuator fork-to-shaft retaining pin
7)Unscrew and remove the retaining bolts securing the actuator valve unit to the main housing and separate the two. Remove the O-ring seal and gasket.

Hope this helps. When reassembling, put sealant on all the faces you have separated (actuator to housing, housing to transfer).

BTW, where did you get your new actuator from and how much?
