just finished reading the Sunday mail and found an article saying there will be no more daihatsu in Australia in about three months. It said they had a proud histiry of being in Australia for forty years but it is now the time to stop bringing their cars to Australia as they are not making enough profit

so no more ferozas or rockies ever to be made again  however the terrios will never be seen again :D

Sad.... They really lost the plot when they stopped making the larger Charade (probably their best seller here) and then brought it back as a Charade Centro - that Mira sized thing?!

And, of course, replacing the Feroza with the Terios!?

eh.. who cares!
with the manufacturer gone from aus... we can get Large quantity imports coming in of the higher spec models ;) SWEEEET!
pity its too late to get any decent charade GTti's or GTxx's
... and like you guys.. I never really like their newer models(anything later than the G102 charade) anyhow.. except for maybe the Copen... and the Gtvi

I wonder what's going to happen with spare parts now???

Most likely Toyota will handle them- but at what price?

I am sorry to hear about this. As you will be in the same boat as we in the US. Smaller parts are available but the larger ones have to be ordered from Japan. Every time I found one in a salvage yard I would get the relays. I can't remember what a new one costs but the ones from the salvage yard were like $0.50 to $1.00 each. I haven't seen a Feroza in the yards for years now.

I hope that the Daihatsu forum on OuterLimits will still be here five years from now. :?: :?: :?:

probably cheaper then Daihatsu...

I've never bought an original spare part to this day... I dont care if its got a Daihatsu badge on it.. as long as the bolt fits the hole ;)
pfft... they were always too expensive on their OEM spares anyhow.
cant argue with the reliability of the cars tho... I've had 2 charades and a feroza so far... not one has let me down... Ever!

I agree 100%. Daihatsu's are very reliable.

I owned 2 of them, a hard top Aus. Rocky and Feroza.

I've lunched two Charade engines from the cambelt snapping!

Wasn't very funny at the time though.

PWNED!

yeah, had the same problem with my roza engine. broke the head due to timing belt snapping. :bad-words: THEN i lost the block due to an engine mount shredding itself under extreme heavy load (trailer on hill) in 3rd gear goin 60-65 mph. since then i've had nothing but problems. but in the next few years that'll be fixed when i yank the whole system out!
