Starting woes

Hi Guys
I need a little help
Last week my car started playing up by failing to start every so often. It sounded like a dying battery, only slowly cranking the motor.
I replaced the battery with a brand new optima yellow top
The dude at battery world who installed the battery checked charge from the alternator and all was good (13.something volts).
But now the original problem is back not starting all the time and at times a weak crank. Turn the key off and on a couple of times and all comes good
Is this a starter motor problem or is the battery farked??
Thanks in advanced
