I have an ARB switch, which I want to wire up to my work lamp at the rear of the vehicle.
All I want is to turn the light on and off. Not connected to the reverse. The switch should light up with the headlights and another light go on when I switch it on.

I used to have a diagram but cant find it.

No no... the ARB switches have a back light that comes on with the dashboard lights when you turn the headlights on...

There should be 5 pins on the plug. 2 top, 1 centre, 2 bottom. Connect earth to the 2 top pins. Power to the centre pin. Now one of the bottom pins is in line with the 2 pins above it. That wire goes to your work light. The last pin has a wire coming in from your dash light power. So find a wire that gets power when your dashlights are on and run a wire from that to your switch. Does that make sense? If not here is another way to describe it. 5 pins. 2 pins with a gap in between, these are for the light on the switch that comes on with the dash light. Earth top dash light power on the bottom. 3 pins in line. These are for the switch light that comes on when the switch is in operation and for the work light. Earth top, power centre and work light bottom. Hope that helps.

i have the earth coming in (bridged) to the top two lugs. Power in to the centre, power out below it and the dash power comming in to the bottom one (below the earth with the gap in between).

Seems to be the way you said.
When I turn the light on the fuse blows.
The light is a Narva twin globe job. I have had it wired up to this switch before and haven't had problems (except wasn't wired up to dash light).

I have tried it with a 15amp fuse and a 25 amp fuse. Both blow when I turn the light on........

Any ideas....?

Wich light should come on with the console lights.
The larger light comes on mine and it's bloody bright.
Is that the one that should come on or the smaller one...?
