hi guys i wonder if u can help me and dont i need it. i'm looking to buy 80 series cruiser i originally wanted a manual but i cant find one.i have located 1994 80 series turbo diesel gxl with 224000 klm but its auto. is manual better than auto for 4wd or is it preference, could someone advise me on this. much appreciated

An auto gives you better control in most instances. The only place it will let you down a bit is on down slopes as you can't use engine braking. But you drive accordingly. Other than that it's personal preference. I prefer a manual but that's just me.

auto is less prone to mud ingression, whereas a manual can get water/mud into the clutch and its bearings.

I'd prefer an auto, on and off road, but I have a manual.
