Drove up to "Shitney" from Melbourne early last week and along the way servered a brakeline!!

To cut a long story short it appears that when I did the body lift (nearly two years ago) and pulled the brake line through the inner guard it has been rubbing. I know at the time the line was centered and was not rubbing anything but over many miles and much vibration obviously things have moved. Body cut into metal brakeline and "whooooo nelly" when ya push the stop pedal she hits the floor and the bus just keeps on a roll'n.

If you have done a body lift or even if you haven't it might be a good idea to check this next time you look under your vehicle.

huh, so its not just me... i've had that problem.. twice. installed a body lift a couple years back, and only lately the body braised the brake line causing brake failure.

I've since removed my body lift and would you believe... the rubber grommet moved and the line rubbed and wore through.

Perhaps im not meant to have brakes?? Recommend everyone go have a look under their trucks... u never know.

Yeah the first thing I did when I got home after you rang me was check mine. Look ok as far as I could tell.
But it's a very valid point Blair and a potentially serious safety concern.
I'll post this topic on Trail Talk as well as there are a lot of trucks with body lifts.

Frank.
