TB42. Alternators, which ones can I use?

The exsiting alternator on my TB42 88 GQ is on its last legs.
It is the factory hitachi 12v 50A.
I want to know what I can use with out any adjustment, machining or stuffing around. ie what can I just bolt on in my back yard with out fancy stuff.
Are the alternators off the early EFI TB42E compatible?
I'm running dual batteries so would like something with a higher output than the I'm getting from the old one.
Cheers.

Yes I did and I have them bookmarked as well.
But my mistake for not being more specific.

Also is the alternator off the EFI TB42E 100% compatible with my TB42??

I've called around Australia and the cheapest I could find was $137.50.
Thats of a TB42.
Central Coast 4x4 Wreckers in Wyong, NSW wanted $330 for a second hand one, no warranty.
BTW thank you bogged for finding those other threads.

i dont think there is much at all, i was looking for the same thing, as many other ppl have looked, and ended up making a bracket for a VT commo 120 amp alt. Aus 4wd specialists does the bosch 120 amp universal alternator and bracket to suit for somewhere over $300 i think. Watch out for the amps at idle of the universal alternator though
