Outer Limits 4x4 Board

While out today I got a couple of quotes for an exhust system and the extractors available are hurricane and genie (more out there but these are what the workshops I am considering use). I am looking for feedback on both these extractors and people thoughts on them. The vehicle in question is a 97 V8 disco.

Go the Genie.

Hurricane's are a cow to fit.

A timely topic, looking at extractors for a '92 rangie with the 3.9, trying to wring every ounce of power out of the old girl.

What about performance, is it worth wrapping the extractors in that heat shield tape.

Extractors are fine, but the stock EGFI manifolds do the job well and for the money that you spend getting extractors you may be a little dissapointed.

Dad fitted extractors to his 88 Rangie and it was very little increase in performance and certainly not worth the $600 price tag (fitted price). Earlier models will benifit more so because of there very restrictive manifold set-up.

Also it's cheaper to maybe get a new EFI manifolds and y-piece to suit (carbie models that is) and still have plenty ofsosh left over.

Just a thought.

i agree with above - you probably wont notice much difference at all with extractors to em.
i would just bang on a larger exhaust and spend the money on the computer or air intake or something like that.
but if its pure sound your after, then, hey, what eva is the cheaper of the two
