dash fault/charge light after weekend run

scenario
it was wet but not wet enough i thought to cause alt probs.....
after recovering a fella i notice the charge light was intermittently coming on and dash gauges had dropped out with some jerks to life on movement frwd or back......
ill call racq tomorrow to get them to suss for free but till then any constructive suggestions similar probs?

just check that the fuse and cabling for the dash is ok, you mighta just bumped it loose. the "meter" fuse will be the one for the guages, other than that, id really have to look at it.

should of told me while i was there dude i could of checked it out for you sounds like you loosing power though only thing i can think of is your alternater is rooted and it is running off battery power have you had trouble starting it etc

Give it a good dose of CRC and a tap with a plastic hammer. to see if brushes sticking.
Also check fan belt is TIGHT

alternator is almost new, no dramas starting now as got a new starter motor last week......
if the rain stops ill check it our this arv......
i nearly call you to bartso.............

just check for charge, and then if not do as bazzle said.......if the alternator is charging, take it to a autolecky or you will end up bashing your head against a wall for weeks and still be no closer to finding the problem fi you are not electrically minded ( or you could just find a willing mate

)

yep just got here going properly again,,,, after the mechanics looked at it when we were out having a play, the first thing they checked was fuses, the next was racq today, did all the tests checked fuses (ok he said) and said he had no idea but there was still good charge coming from alt
so of to steve wilson aerodrome rd maroochy auto elect.............
2 minutes fuse for meter and reverse lights removed and replaced and away we go,,,,, the dash elects being off was inturn causeing the charge light to intermitenly come on and off............, gave me some spare fuses and have a good day
all this for one fuse............
