Cheezy Toyota coil SAS
I keep hearing that Cheezy do effective coil SAS's on IFS Yota's. I've worn the search button out and can't find anything here.
Does anyone know where there are pics and info on there work on the net?
I emailed them ages ago but they're obviously not interested.....

Yeah for sure. From those pics, the SAS's from ORI etc do flex a little more using leaves, but I kinda would prefer coils on all four corners.
The leaves for total drive in drive out was about $4000. Sam wants a bit less and it includes the rear. Much more $ than that?

I don`t see the point of doing coils when you can get as much flex with leafs

Hey thats my puppy there .
Its been tweaked a little since those pics were taken, it has way more flex, the rear has been fiddled with as well and total suspension height is at 7" and now fangs in the bush with 35" centerpedes.
As for why I went the coil setup, well you gotta come for a ride in all conditions its way smoother than any leaf sprung set up I've been in and with in-cab adjustability of the shocks it even handles well (for a lifted car anyway )
Nemeses I've sent you a few PM's with some details
Geoff next time you post pics of my car on here delete the Number plate

Because it won't be strictly for tearing up rocks etc. I don't want a coil rear with a leaf front. Flex isn't the be all end all for me. Among other things..................
I haven't written off leaves, it will depend on the $ difference.....
Nemisis, after spending a day as shotgun in Andrew's truck, I wouldn't go anything but coils on a SAS. The thing is so supple off-road, (with more flex than a comparable leaf setup, 53 inches travel from memory!!), and still handles well on tarmac, absorbing bumps like a car. Adjustable Rancho's would help of course....
... And Cheezy's metalwork is A1 quality as well, and I do fab work for a living....
Cheers,
Pat.

I reckon there's about 16-18" of total travel in the 5 link front using the Nissan/Toyo standard shock towers/coil perches. He can easily extend the shock tower to fit in a longer shock for more travel.
The rear 4 link A frame Cheezy does has heaps of rear travel I would say around 25" of total travel.
The best thing about Cheezy's 5 link conversions is that they look like a factory installation but heaps stronger. If you opt for black trailing arms it will look like it rolled out of a Toyota dealer like that and it just has a bit of a lift.
Coils are definitely the go for ride/handling

I just luv my "clacker Jabber"
Frank ya spot on 18" of total travel and the shock towers are going to be stretched soon when the rear end gets a further tickle by Cheezy.
Pats sort of not wrong either, ages ago we were flexed out on a hill and we measured the distance from the guard /wheel well to the ground and it measured 60inches ( I could compress the spring about 1/4" and take it out)
but holly shit I'd be tipping my car over all the time if I had that much shock travel, the massive shocks stickin' through the bonnet would look cool though.
But I'm happy with how Cheezy has set up my car and it drives smooth as on & off road, originally I was going to have everything black powder coated so as not to attract attention then when it was time to decide I was in the work shop and the boys were fitting the A-frame to Franks Paj and it looked sweet as, so I thought why not ya spend that sort of money why not have it stand out in ya face
