I run BFG muddies at the moment 33x12.5x15" (the old style), I reckon they are only average for a mud tyre and I would not buy them again.
Their garb about the triple sidewall is marketing hype and I reckon they are way too thin in the sidewall. Mine are also wearing quicker than I'd like. Recently Locky let me wander around his tyre warehouse and feeling the thickness of sidewalls of various tyres (Pro Comps, Simex, MTR's, Swampers etc) the BFG's were way thinner than anything else.
I think these tyres have had their day and have been overtaken in performance by other brands now. Still they are not a bad allrounder, onroad they are just ok and offroad their ok but far superior to an all terrain (I had BFG All Terrains before them).

Well ive ran Bfg,s on da zook since ive owned da thing , reasonable tyre ,wen i ran the claws on the freds trip didnt notice a huge difference in grip on the rock although by the sound these make u would of thought so b ut they luved to dig in the soft stuff.
And as for my next set on the Mav well ive got MTRS on order should be here within a month cant wait , these seem to have a lot more grip on da rocks even wen worn and this is the shite i luv to drive 8) although its been ages
Just gotta lift da mav a BIT so that i can fit my 37"s

Im running Goodyear Wrangler MTR's. Love em on everything but really sticky mud. For Rock, gravel, dirt, forestry etc etc they perform really well. But in mud, I think the BFG style Muddy pattern was a bit better.
A mate was also running Kuhmo Muddies and was real happy with them for a cheaper tyre.
Cheers

Procomp Xterrain for summer and Road Duty.... Swampers for Offroad Trips, particularly in Winter...

I run ProComp Muddies for light trail & street they are ok....
If the MT/R was available when I got the ProComps the MT/R would have won.....But I tend to think just too many sheep with MT/R's these days....
But I've been EXTREMELY impressed with the offroad performance of my 36" TSL bias....I think I'll kep these tyres for a while...

what are you going to be using them for. If you're going to be competing in speed and mud events like the winch challenges probably a Simex. Sloppy mud stuff a swamper of bogger. General medium 4wheeling the MTR and for rockcrawling probably the MTR as well.

I run MTR's and am happy with them on everything but sticky mud, once the tread is full they are useless.
Probably go Simex next, but keep the MTR's for DD'ing

Sam what do you think the BFG KRAWLER will be like compared to the MTR!
I know all the guys in the states were running Mtr's last year and now there are using the 40 inch KRAWLER, but i think this has more to do with the fact that BFG sponsors most of the Comps over there!
I like the look of the Krawler!

42" TSL i like the look, i dont think they are a very competitive tyre, but for trailriding they are excellent and for mall cruising they cannot be beaten.
Id prefer a 37" krawler i think!?!?!

At the moment if io was to buy new tyres i would look at either the 37-40 Krawler or the MTR i am so far not impressed with my 38.5 claws. I think my Simex JT2s had better traction on rock. These just seam too hard and not very sticky even when you smoke them up to try and get them hot.
But then again maybe they will work awsome with my new setup.

Naturally a persons vehicle will influence their decision as to which tyres would be best suited. Im currently running Goodyear AT's 31" and i can honestly say that they offer great wear, both on and off-road, howver they tend to perform better in the mud than on sand, which shocked me. Considering their non aggressive tread pattern they really are consistant in all types of terrain.

MTR's.
I got these on my 60 when they sort of first came out here. It took a lot of convincing.... mainly from only a few people, cause not many were running them at the time. Awesome tyre though. Rock, road, gravel, sand, rock, rock, rock, rock, rock..... and rock  I have done a bit of mud driving with them, and they have excelled in all but the deepest of sloppiest mud..... but still done better than a BFG that I could tell.
SO yeah... try the M T R

Well, i am amazed to see the responses i have recieved, it seems as though for a great all-roud tyre the MTR's seem the be the choice, i am going to go with the 33x12.5x15", i have been quoted $320 a tyre, does this seem right, or should i look somewhere else, if any one has had cheaper prices in sydney, please let me know where from.
THanks for the help all,
Shawn
