filter light always on

After replaceing the brushes and buying a new voltage regulator, the charging system is now working.... but the filter light wont go out.
anyone had this before? it also seems to flicker at higher revs. its a 47 deisel with the external v/r

Does it go off when you unplug it from the filter itself? If not it may be faulty, otherwise I would guess that there might be some crud in your filter.

No it doesent go off if i disconnect it at the filter... may have to start tracing the wiring to see if there is a short, either that or just pull the connectors at the back of the bulb....

If you've replaced the bushes sometimes they may take a while before they bed in, i've had it before where the light didnt go off for a week but it eventually did
