lockright lockers in 60 series
i spoke to a guy who had twin lockright lockers in his 60 series and said they are great, they normally have a pretty bad wrap what do you guys reckon?
I have run them F & R for about 6 months and rear only for longer. The back one is great, no worries at all. The front is great too as long as you don't want to steer the car and have an endless supply of CV's. The last 4 day trips in a row I've broken one so I just pulled it out and replaced it with an ARB. Leaving the lockright in the rear though. It all depends on your tyres though and how and what your driving. You may have better luck than me. If you do run one in the front, be sure you mod your transfer selector bracket (20 min job) so you have low range 2WD when required.
I know a three blokes who have had them and they have all pulled them out and fitted air lockers instead. for all the reasons stated above.
One of these guys got them with the rig when he bought it the others all got them cause they were cheaper.....at the time.

I put one in the front but the deciding factor was that my 60 has the same diff front and rear so I still have the option to put it in the back if/when I get jack of it.
If I was to come across an airlocker I would be putting that in the front for sure and moving the lockrite to the rear. Maybe when I have some more expendible income.
But to be honest it has been ok for me, just dont get impatient or you will break a cv for sure, if the steering isn't co-operating back up and get a better line.
Thats not to say I disagree with turbo4t and Chucky, I'm sure I'll be doing a cv sooner than later and I'll prolly buy an airlocker with the cv :)
Keen on that selector bracket mod...
