diffs and transfer cases

I've read a little about vitara 5.12 diffs fitting into a sierra and was wondering do that fit in a nt 1.3 and how hard is it to do. I need a lower ratio because of my 31s so i was thinkin of swapping to the 5.12s and chucking a 1ltr transfer in as well (yes one with a 4wd light).
Has anyone ever done this and what would be the percentage drop overall.

Sound a bit too low for me.
5.12's are 29% shorter than nt, and your MEASURED 31's are only 21% taller than 26's. (most 31's are around 30 tall or less) with the approx 12% lower high range with a 1.0 transfer, you'll be revving pretty hard on road.
I would stick a S3 rockhopper in it for a 26% lower high ranger and always have plenty of low range, and leave your diffs alone.
With a 31, personally, a S1 rockhopper is a far better option ( 18%(?) lower high range), but the well known weaknesses with S1's may be a deterrent.

22% and with my 3.9 centers and S3 I'm revving at about 4500 on the highway
My 31's measure 30"

Chuck the 1ltr transfer in there first.
Thats what I have in mine and find it ok offroad and onroad. I have 3.9 centres as well. running 31 muddies. measure 30.8"

thanks for your help fellas, now the hard part is sourcing a 1ltr tranny. I am also thiniking of maybe doing a rocklobster conversion later but maybe i'll just save up for s3's.
