Finally got mine installed in the rear and did its first road run to work this morning
Probably not the best idea in hindsight
They seem pretty loud though when cornering.... how loud is everyone elses
Mine is clearly audible from outside the car and sounds like the rear diff is stuffed
Not a bad noise just the proper click/ clunk but yeah pretty loud. Goes fine in a straight line. Is this normal

I'm just using basic diff oil atm.
Maybe additives to keep it quiter

Yes they are loud and will scare the shit out of you sometimes. On road, try not to use hard throttle when cornering. I also use 85-140 diff oil which reduced the clunking. They are awesome off road though.

can't wait for that one
I'm driving up to landcruiser park tonight and I reckon the drive through the mountains will be 30 mins of non stop clunking
There's no straight sections

its simple mick, just dont back off through corners, or kick the clutch in an cruise around them. my lockright never gave me drama's. sure they bang and shiat, but its a good way to scare passengers

agree with antt - my sons only makes a noise if you corner with the clutch in (such as turning into the driveway). Occassionally a loud bang when taking off, but only rarely.

Maybe PK means when the clutch is dissengaged?

there's a section of road near hornsby/sydney that goes thru galston gorge... very tight and windy with hairpins that only one car can usually go around at a time..... only way to drive thru with the locker on the uphill hairpins is with some serious chirping
if i had to drive thru there any more often than i do now, i'd be rotating my tyres a lot more often!!!

Did u install it yourself or get someone to do it for you?
How much was it/were from if u dont mind?
The 29's drift every wet corner with ease lol, the mongrels are a different story though lol

I imported a detroit ez-locker (same as lockright) from the states from
http://www.roadlessgear.com. Worked out at under $400 from ordering to in the diff, that price is including diff oil, sealant etc. Delivery was quick, and customer service was top notch. Spoke to a guy called Figmo over there. I installed my locker myself, and found it easy, but i am a a mechanic by trade. If you are pretty mechanicaly talented it might be worth doing yaself, but if your not sure get it installed profesionaly and save and potential heartache later on. Round here places charge bout $100 to install one, thats if you pull the diff yourself and drop it off. If your diff is a bit dodgy take the oppertunity to get it sorted at the same time.
Layto....
With ez-locker, and mtr's at 8psi, makes for great screechys in enclosed car parks, instand attention

Mine always clicked loudly while cornering but never 'banged'.
According to basketcase it banged so loudly when he drove it, he shat himself and thought the diff had shattered into a 10000 pieces but has never does this to me.
As antt said, putting clutch in around corners is always a good thing (especially at roundabouts
), but his locker was deadlier than mine.
Nothing like bunny hopping the Vit onto footpaths...aye antt

yes they are. they do not stay locked when turning (if your foot is not flat to the floor)
they are known as a unlocker.

When i did mine i just paid over the net through credit card. The savings are awesome compared to Aust prices, though warranty is a bit of a problem,

yeah 420 au, payed with credit card over the phone.
They tell me a price in US $, punch it in currency converter on the net = AU $, then don't forget to add customs. When mine arrive in Sydney it was $127 in customs. Total including customs was about $850.
Fitted new rears and RUF today, you could say the flex is a bit better, considering I had none before.
