Just wondering how hot your diff housings get?

Went for a run a while ago, afther about half an hour of driving on road, i found the diff housing to be almost untouchable!!! I am running 5.12 vit gears in WT housing.

Opinions?

Cheers

do you have enough of the correct type of oil in the diff?

Lockers, welded etc?

mine always gets very hot, especially now with the lower ratios. probably cos the pinion spins that much faster for the same road speed.
of course it could be bearing wear etc.
90/140 gear oil helps.
ya can also get heat transfer from crook uni, so werth checkin that, too.
