Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Is there a difference between a diesel 5spd and a petrol 5spd for a GQ Patrol?
I have a diesel 5spd that i was going put in my Rangie with a 5lt or a 5.7lt petrol v8.

From what I have been told there are 3 different GQ Gearboxs and all that is different is the ratios between gears. If you need further info, PM me with you number and I will give you the number of a guy that knows more about them than I do.
