Looks like the silhouette is going to resemble that of the current Disco, though with a few more Rangie styling cues. Shame about the IFS/IRS, though I suppose thats what the masses want. I wonder if the suspension will be cross linked air goodies like the current RaRo.

Bear in mind that in the past LR have put a test body on a non LR (i.e. 2x4 Van) Chassis for body test purposes. It really confuses the media.
Whatever the chassis is - it has IRS doesn't it???

Yeah, that would confuse the media..... testing parts on a 2wd motorbike with a van body

Haven't you seen 2WD motorbikes? I have a 4x4 mag (custom 4x4) at home - they were featuring an "inventor" who had a 454 powered 80 series cruiser, and they also showed a 2x2 dirt bike he had built. Just a regular dirt bike with chain drive to the front also.
Of course I meant a 2x4 van. I think they used an Austin/Vauxhall? van to test the original Disco body back in 1988.

I be your thinking of the 2x2x2 that Ian drysdale built. Ugly, and near impossible to ride (2 wheel steer bike anyone?)
Asia have these funky fat wheel 2wd ag bikes. Fat tyres & no suspension
Yamaha have a 2 wheel drive motorcrosser racing the european circuit.
I'd find ya some pic, but I couldn't be bothered

Speaking of the new Rangie, I was in company with one on a club trip last year. They are good for IFS due to the cross linked valve set-up, but nowhere near as nimble and capable as the old Rangies ever were. It's just simply nowhere near as capable due to the point before and it's quite large and like the Landcruiser and partol bulky as all hell. It's a sad thing to admit that the opposition are better off road now than the Rangie and it's a shadow of it's former self!!
What sort of drugs are these engeneers on? I just don't get the idea of IFS on 4WD's in general, only to make the vechicle more on-road oriented and absolut crap off-road. Traction controls and the like can't save them in the real world and while it looks good on paper it's just not cricket in the real world. I suppose the way that these blokes look at it and the marketing departments view that 9 out of 10 people will never venture off-road so they have had leway to compromise off-road ability, while the people like all of us here who yearn ofor some off-road action seem to suffer. I have no problens with soft-roaders, but keep them away from our beloverd hard-core potential machines and let the dickheads at Honda and Hyundai make there poofter 4WD's!!!!
I guees theat the Defender will be the last of a dying breed at LR and lots of us here will be hanging on to our old Landies for a long time yet. I hope it's just a trend and LR get back to reality of making the Best 4X4XFar. It's like the old saying, if it aint broken don't fix it!!!

If it's still going, leave the bastard alone!!!
