Guy's and perhaps girls? I have a carbureted TB42 Mav which really hangs on to the revs between gears or when is pumped up to say 2,500 in neutral. This happens on petrol and gas. Any ideas.

IF you have a black rubber plug in the side of the carby about the size of a 10 cent piece pull this out and turne the screw (carnt rember wich way ) count the turns in case you stuff up and it should bring the revs down quicker

It's called a dashpot. Dunno who named it! It stops the throttle from closing too fast for emissions when backing off. It's vacuum operated and can be blocked off if you want. Makes a nice burble out a 2.5" pipe when backing off.
