Hilux drive shaft - need more operational angle from yoke

Ok under aarons hilux we are running 3 inch axle forward with rears up front.
We used a standard LN65 shaft because the compresed and extendend length meausured right and on the ramp worked well
No bring on the off-road arena - trying to drive out of the creek on CP1 on saturdays run - a little axle wrap after doing a lot of bouncing caused the following damage. At first I thought it just seperated but on closer inspection we see it is split in two places along the female of the spline.
Straight away I knew what happened we bound up the front uni, my question to you guys is do you know of a yoke not double cardin with more operating angle?

I know a 60 seires has more then a 40 series but don`t know where the hilux stands with them, My guess would be its the same as a 60. Might be wearth a look but.

Are you sure the uni bound? Those marks could have been caused after the Slip joint seperated. I realy cant see that you would bind the Uni unless the pinion angle is way out to start with. The Jack shaft would have split because it over extended and then prob cocked sideways as it tried to push back in. It prob got within a few MM of the end before it started to go back in.

That is possble too I guess, up close they look more like a hit, on the ramp with the shockie fully taught there is still approx 40mm of engagment
But bouncing and wrapping could cause that

That is before the spring bends. When it Wraps the front half of the leaf becomes shorter and moves the axle further away. It will also do this if you attempt to drive up a large ledge and upon failing you jump hard on the brakes and the rig roles back but the axle remains in the same spot.

Mine does exactly this, For now I haven`t done anything about it but after I drop twin cases in I will look at it agian as the longer length of the shaft will help a bit with the amount the slip has to travel. Plus I don`t want to spend big $$$$ on a new shaft only to modify it in 6 months time.
What about trying to setup a trac bar on the front diff like we do on the rear. This is something I have looked at doing, but it would have to be offset to one side.

HZJ 75/80 105 have a more open flange and a fairly long slip joint.

My front shaft requires a good 200mm (8") of working slip length and then there is around 100mm (4") engagement required at full extension. A little more for wrap would be nice but the shaft simply isn't long enough.

I spent hours one day going over all the standard slip joints with a shaft shop, Hilux slip joints are the longest factory one.
