manufacturing PTO winch cradle

hey all

I am trying to mount a PTO winch to the front of my 75 series cruiser. I have yet to find any of the so called specialist fourby shops (the ones that have "every thing you need" as long as its a generic part and your prepared to pay several times the products actual value) that can supply a mounting system for it and a bar infront of it. I called the sole distributors of thomas PTO gear in brisbane, and they want 450 bucks just for the mount cradle. (they seem to think 4000 dollars for a complete winch system is good value)

Does any one know a decent fabricator or is interested in doing the fabrication of a mount, and modifying my existing (generic ARB/TJM twin riser style steel bar) bullbar so it won't sit a mile in front of the front of the vehicle.

I would like to do a decent looking job of it, as i can't stand the thought of a horrible looking lump of metal and railway track looking thing hanging off the front of my truck. I also need to find out if anyone knows a good place to source a billet aluminium fairlead from as i want to run plasma rope to keep the weight down. How much should i pay for one of these?

any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I've just fitted a Toyota PTO winch to my 75. Winch was off a grey import 60. I made my own cradle to sit the winch as far back toward the grille as possible. Had to lengthen the mounts of the bar slightly.

Will get digital camera from work on Monday and post or PM pics of the cradle/bar etc.

Cheers

This is what i done to mount mine but is a bit of work ,
but it will sit in behind the front bar with the bar being in the stock location , and infact i will be able to bring the bar back in closer to the radiator , take a look you may get some ideas .

I have cut out the front X member and repositioned it back about 2 inch's to further recess a Toy PTO on a 70. you would need engineers cert though
