I think mine ran about 9psi when it was standard, but in the end i had about 14psi onboard, and it went much better. Just had to watch the temp. as i had the pump turned up a bit too. Not sure how much harder this is on the motor though.

is that why my temp is high might put a intercooler on it. ive herd that a cople of people have boost it up and been ok. mind you i just got told my head was creacked.

diesels love the boost, nearly a complete different concept to petrol engines when it comes to boost..

good intercooler set-up is a great idea.

Diesels don't like to much fuel.
More fuel=More heat which they don't like

Just my 2 cents worth.

As said before, a diesel and a petrol are opposite when it comes to mixtures and temp. A petrol will run hot on a lean mixture, and a diesel will run hot on a rich mixture. So if you want to run more boost, and adjust the pump to put in more fuel (so get more power), then watch the Temp closely. An intercooler would be a good idea too. The later model TD rockys came out with a small front mount cooler, but is was not that efficient i dont think, but still may be worth a look if you can get it cheap and it is easy to mount.

I got a 1992 stock standard turbo diesel Rocky with the factory intercooler and it runs at 12psi boost. Absolutely stock standard, so yours sounds just right to me.
