Bishi... those front detroit lockers, and the rear 529 gears

Just had a couple questions for you.
I am trying to budget out mod money, rent money, and a trip my girlfriend wants to take.
I have the front 5.29's from Lloyd that I had bought... so I need a rear to complete the set. What should a set asside for gear cost and shipping of the rear gears?
You had posted that detroits were available, even for my front diff, can you confirm that? I know mine is the odd duck.
If one is available, it wouldnt make sense to pay for the gear setup of the 5.29's, and not put the locker in at the same time.
Last question, how rare are junkyard cv axles for my diff. I havent been able to find many cv axles for my rig. I guess because it is a wierd combo, no one has them. I wondered if this was the same for you guys. I cant find 3.0 genII auto cvs anywhere.
Thanks Alot,
DougH

OK Dougie, the rear 9" 5.29 is $670 + 10% tax = $737 Aus + $100 Aus in shipping. It takes 10 working days to get it from Japan once I pay the dealer who then places the order. All the Aus 5.29 stocks have now been bought up by you guys !!!!!!
Yes the Detroit is available in the small version to fit your front diff. The small 7.25" diff case is MB393001 the larger 8" diff case is MB393983. He makes them in both case sizes. I posted contact details on the Trail Talk thread.
Yes I can get the auto CV's second hand but they are becoming rare. The diameter and spline count is the same as the manual ones just that there are a couple of extra circlips and stuff on the manual ones. I checked the CAPS programme and there is a heap of CV/axle part no's it seems they were constantly changed/updated. I'm pretty sure the manual ones will fit yours.
It's best to set up a Pay Pal account, I got Kirk and Kevin C their 5.29's this way and it worked really well.

Great Frank, thanks for the info.
With those cv's... are they the same size as the genI v6 cv. I know the fit probally wont be the same, I am just trying to figure out the strength in comparison to say Lloyd's diff.
I still think the cvs will be the weak link... not the ring and pinion. Maybe side gears like Lloyd has blown up.
God I cant wait to get this rig setup.

Yes Dougie they are, spline count and diameter are the same. The 4 cylinder ones are the same as the V6 also except the V6 has bigger CV joints.
The problem with Lloyd's was that Locked Drive cut the side gears too big and the CV's were a sloppy fit from the start.
Yes the CV's/axles will be the week link.
I don't know anyone who has blown the front Detroit in a Paj only CV's.
Yours being the smaller Gen 2 front diff still has the reverse helix gear cut high pinion design which is plenty strong. I'd say it would be close in strength to Lloyd's. The 8" Gen 2 is the strongest Pajero front diff by far but unfortunately there is no 5.29 for that. If you look at that one you have and compare it to another manufacturers crownwheel & pinion you will see how chunky they are. The only one I know of to strip the teeth off a Gen 2 front crownwheel was that Dutch dude doing a severe reverse snatch. He didn't learn from that and after fixing it did the same thing again 2 months later

I have seen that done before. Wankers dont realize your gear is strongest going foward, and straight.
