Outer Limits 4x4 Board

anybody got a pic of wiring for a universal elect. fuel pump.
bought one and no instructions
only thing is how can i wire it so it cuts off for safety regs....
i mean motor on pump on, motor stops pump turns off.
any help would be great

what do you mean when motor stops pump stops what siuation are we talking about


i mean when starting the engine the pump pumps before the engine is started

only thing i can think of is a isolator for the whole thing flick the switch and everythings dies

usually there is two terminals a positive and a negative (one power and one ground)

You'd need some kind of electronic circuit:

part a: being a timer to run the pump for 5-10 seconds while you start
part b: a circuit to keep it running while the engine is still running.

For part b, maybe a circuit watching the coil negative, to ensure it keeps pulsing. Once it stops pulsing, the engine is stopped, so kill the fuel pump.

Where to get one? NFI. I could build one, but never got a round tuit when I needed one. Car was killed, so I don't need it any more.

I have done a few engine conversions in the past and have used a LPG safety switch to control an electric fuel pump. This is used to switch a relay to supply the pump. It will operate like a LPG system as in it will allow the pump to prime for a few seconds when the key is turned on and will switch off until it receives a neg pulse signal from the coil to keep the system operating.

have heard of wiring through the oil press switch so it runs from ignition on(key) then if oil press off ie. rollover and motor stops
what do you think

Just found this in a quick search. No idea what it'd cost, probably not much.

They also have a few other cool things, like an automatic enrichment thing for starting EFI/LPG vehicles etc... hmm.
