CD manuals are here to suit our vehicles (not imports!!)all our engines are in here, including TD42ti.
They cover from 1997 to 2005 patrol
only price is stupid at $700

there goin on ebay for around $25 bucs! $700 must come with a mechanic aswell!

Wow.. bargain..
still go for the $8 ones on ebay, and buy the GQ manuals for the 4.2 part of it off ebay for $50 when they come up.

ive got the ebay one, it makes a great frisby.........only covers the wagon and hard top, which i assume is the short wheel base....... it does have some references to the RHD model, but its not much use to me.

4.2 manual for a GQ !!! is ALOT differant to TD42ti in a 2005 patrol

actually not really "ALOT" different.. based on the same engine and head.... it hasnt really changed since 1988

no covec pump , no egr , no needle lift sensor the list goes on, the head and block may be the same but thats it.. torque settings are differant, piston grades etc etc. no way on this earth you could accuratly diagnose an engine fault on a TD42ti with a GQ 4.2 manual !!!!!!!!! ,after all isn't that what manuals are for, for information relavent to a particular model ???????????

Im on nothing.. I have never claimed to be a mechanic...
You still didnt answer the question. What do you think other workshops have been using for reference?

other workshops i guess would use some form of manual/repair guide until they need more info or support from Nissan, i have not worked for any other workshop so its only my thoughts.
(you would be suprised on how many calls i take weekly for tech help from various workshops regarding the Nissan product, which im happy to pass on.
