Which Engine for a 80

I have just bought a real cheap 95' HZJ80 and am wanting to do an engine swap (the 1hz has done big kms) I'm not sure wether to fit a 6.5ltr chev diesel or a 350-400 chev petrol on gas? what is better? Has anyone fitted either of these motors in a 80? any dramas? I would also like to keep the manual trans if possible.
