offset kingpin question

Does anyone have experience with using offset kingpins (like the ones Snakeracing sell) for camber correction on Patrols?
I think they are pretty much the only way to correct the camber on rigid axles, but I was told they may damage the kingpin bearings and CV axle seals.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Yep, I have heard similar bad things about the offset king pins. Apparently the only well engineered fix comes from Truck Align. Their kit uses a new offset outer bearing race and a smaller diameter inner bearing. Only problem is that it is expensive — around $300 per side. It can offer up to 1.5 degrees of adjustment in the camber or castor.

I went to Truck align in wetherill park about this and all he said was, my main business is trucks. I just take on 4WD to fill in my gaps. So i went and spoke to pro axle in smithfield and they were very helpfull. Im booking my nissan in when i get back to sydney.

Let me know how you go Mark.
I was poined toward Truck Align, but I think I won't bother talking to someone who doesn't want 4WD business. The guy in Enfield uses the Snakeracing type offset kingpins from memory. Make sure that your knuckle flange grease seals still sit tight after the offset kingpin went in.

Have a look at both designs. I think that the 'Safe T Steer' branded ones are a better design. A number of steering specialists will sell them, not just Truck Align — it is just that Truck Align has them on their web sight www.truckalign.com.au. They are in the Safe T Steer catalogue.
