i'm just trying to figure out what sort of different flanges there are out there for lux/cruisers

i got a 5.29 centre, and have compared it to a 45 series cruiser flange, and it is slightly smaller in diameter, and the bolt holes are smaller.

just wondering what sort of lux it is out of? mainly so i can get tailshafts and the pattern drilled in my sye's

5.29s generaly have an early Flange on them. Like 79-83. But you are better off swapping a later model flange on to this. So you can run the later larger hilux Flanges and Uni Joints 84-Current.

If you plan on getting shafts made then dont use Cruiser flanges and Uni Joints. The hilux ones will run up to 40* before clearencing.

thanks tony, thats what i'd suspected. prob is i may be forced to stick with the earlier, smaller diameter flange for clearance on the rear output on the tcase...unless i space it out

The early Hilux has a realy small Uni joint.
