Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Problem with my mates car.
Loses power dramatically when cruising on hwy. Fuel system flushed, tanks emptied & flushed. Filters changed. Fuel and injector oil system pressures checked. Intermittent problem. Taken to good Diesel mechanic who contacted Holden but to no avail. Does anyone know anything in Australia about these engines?

mines a 98 and had all the injector problems etc...however last big trip it went on it did the same thing as you mentioned. turned out to be air leaking through the hose at the intercooler. it originally had 2 clamps on it, however after its last service only one was put back. this is when the issue started. after a few hours driving the hose gets hot and with a little oil coming through allows the air leak. reinstalled both clamps and no problem since.

The dealer down here in hobart spent 38 hours on the car trying to find a similer problem which turned out to be a faulty injector. This happened just after it had the recall done in the injector seals.
