clutch issues

i thought i'd post this up here because it's not really a vehicle specific problem. although the vehicle in question is an fj40.
out 4x4ing today, i ended up sitting on my frame rails (and probably T-case) on a mound of dry dirt.
climbing the mound all was fine, but after extraction from seesawing on the fram the clutch takeup point felt to be right at the top of the travel, and the clutch was slipping like hell.
i drove it home, by the time i got home there was enough clamping force to stall the car in first. but it still slips, and power has to be fed in very gradually.
what should i start looking at. is it possible a heap of dust is interfering? how should i clean it?

have you checked the clutch master cylinder ??
i just flip open the timing check hole and feed my pressure washer into the bell housing till the water flows out the bottom clean
a hose with decent flow would work better but my water flow is shit so im stuck using the pressure washer on it

checked the master and slave they look to be doing their job...
i thought about adjusting it out but wanted to here some opinions on that, because i can't see how it misajusted from what happened... it worked fine all day until i came down on the gearbox.
i might try washing the clutch plate... our water pressure is crap too, so i might try to get it to car lovers

Be carefull when doing this.
Once a good wash has been done DRIVE the rig so everything gets warmed up to normal operating temps, otherwise you may have an ugly next time you go to drive it...... here's why...
Flywheels are steel as are pressure plates..... they rust easilly on the smooth polished surfaces where the clutch plate sits....
If you wash it n leave it for a while ( a few days or a week, pending on where you live temperature wise ) the rust gremlin will get a firm grip of the actual clutch plate...... and when you go to drive it it will act as if the clutch has seized.
Seen this happen too many times after trips into the Otways.

possibly something is bent bogged... i'm having a hard time finding it if it is though.
i was planning on driving it after the wash... would it be better to do a heap of stop start, or freeway driving?

quick update, a closer look reveals that the bellhousing - chassis mount on the drivers side has lost both bolts... i guess this is bad...
sorted... was loose mounts
