NG Gen 1 Body Lift

Did the body lift over the weekend. (Photos to come).

A couple of points to note for those considering the same thing:

1. The front two bolts are in crevaces under the bonnet. These are potentially rust city. Find them and clean them out, whether you're doing a lift or not.

2. The rear two bolts need to be a couple of inches longer than the others. Also, take out the tail lights to access these.

3. Should I have had to modify my gear levers? Everything seems to be working fine & its not fouling on anything. Fingers crossed it will stay this way.

4. If you're planning to go to 33's or bigger this is the most effective mod you can do to accomodate the new tyres. We flexed it out front and rear (not hard :)) at the local play track and there was no scrubbing or lockups. Fantastic.

5. Be careful of the brake lines when you are lifting it. They can stretch at the front if you are not careful.

Initial impression of the handling - I can certainly feel the difference when going around corners. But with a bit of care there's no issues at all.

Oh and on a positive note....car looks much bigger.

So are you still going to post pic's for this body lift. it would be appretiated if you could.

So were there many/or any things that needed to be lifted at the same time as the body, such as the fuel tank and did yo have to extend brake lines etc? i have dual fuel and am considering a body lift to shift my 2 tanks higher as they really limit clearance. are there any issues i have to be aware of?

also, how much lift did you go for, and what were your spacers made of, i have been told polyurathane can be used ?

any advice will be appriciated.

cheers ben

Yep...I'll have to organise some pics.

In terms of other things to be lifted / modded - the answer is no. I didn't have to change anything else. However I do intend to lift the fuel tank, as well as have the bullbar raised.

In terms of what the spacers are made of, yes I think it was polyurathane. But don't quote me on it.

Lift wise I think the maximum legal body lift is 2 inches in Victoria. Not sure about other states though.

it would be appretiated. thanks.

and are they 33'' tyres you've got on there?
