are you after a dual cab ? xtra cab setup ?
surely a normal ute cab would be cheaper to use than cutting up a wagon ?

Normal ute cabs are few and far between, they also dont have much room, so I am thinking of doing a xcab desighn and will be watching this post for peoples idea experiances

In the final stages of doing mine.
Have used a leaf cab which bolts straight on to the wagon mounts. Cabs are worth a lot more than wagon bodies - supply and demand.
Later models have just enough room but I would prefer an extra cab.
Am making up a steel tray at the moment, using rear 4 body mounts as tray mounts. 50mm RHS as pedestals for the tray welded to each body mount.
One issue to watch is how you mount your tray - you dont want a hard hit from the rear pushing the tray into the back of the cab..........am not sure if what I'm doing is going to be enough - takes the vertical loads fine.......
Rear end is way lighter, takes some getting used to but the extra zip is good. Will need some adjustable shocks as the existing OME's are valved way too firm for the lighter weight, even with soft coils.

don't make the extra cab too big if i did mine again i would put the seat right back and make the firewall there. its too hard to get stuff out of and just stores junk. i used to fit my swag behind the seats but the fixed back seats killed that

but even with the orig seats i never used it. also with the seat right back you can't see out the side window.
cheers bru

Yeah, I am in two minds as I want a 6 point in the cab as well as I beleive OBC required a 6 point and prolly would be a PITA to contruct a 6p cage to go out the cab????? any one know what the max angle is for the rear points on a roll cage?
Other thing is need to mount the seats a fair way back as I am 6'6ft so leg and head room with cage will be diffcult.
Cutting is not the issue, I have plenty of expeirience cutting suff up etc, but welding sheet metal

me no like and what is the best way to finnsh off the outside of the cab?
I like the lenght of yours Bru, but I cant remember if you have a side window!!! I knoe big green meany doesn't, was also considering a suicide door on one side to get stuff in and out, how hard would it be to do something like this? would it be usefull, or would it be to small a door to be any good considering the piller is there?
Would like to decide where to chop as I hope to put a cage in in the next couple of weeks, may be chopping it that soon depends on the cash issue (selling the GU) cheaper to run around in a falcon ute or something.
