Hi,
Just wondering what the rules and regulations are in regards to installing a 2LT ( 2.4L turbo diesel ) into a '90 model hilux ?
Does it have to go through a pollution test ? any others ?
Thanks,
Daniel.

How cheap is this 2LT? Im assuming you have the 3L now? If i were you id save my money a bit longer and fit a turbo to the 3L, 3L's are stronger engines and it will go harder than the 2LT.
As far as rules and regs im not sure but i dont see how there could be any probs droping the 2LT in there.

Yup I have the 3L now but the head is cracked big time...
got the 2LT very cheap, and jus wanna put it in for the time being until I can save up some cash to get another head.
THis way I can drive my ute and build up the 3L properly.

In nsw you would have to prove the emmisions were correct for the year model of the car.
But thats of course if your going to tell the RTA your changing the engine.
Personally, i would fix the head on the 3l and put the turbo kit from the 2l onto it.

yup I'm in NSW.
So does that mean I will have to do an emissions test ?
I have to tell the rta cuz the car is currently unregistered.
