just about to install a new manifold gasket and noticed that it has been bent at some stage. is this still ok to install???

I can see light through the two sides of the gasket.

and also, does it matter which side goes on the manifold ??

It's stuffed. You'll have to buy a newy. Generally speaking most exhaust gaskets will go on either way but the port & bolt holes may not line up exactly so test it both ways paying close attention to the port areas for correct fit.
Cheers.

If its not too big a job to fit then use it and see how you go (it should be ok though) if its a nightmare to fit then buy a newy just in case!!!

as said check all the holes etc line up properly and bung it on!
