New Old TJ

Post by TUFFRANGIE »

My girlfriend put a deposit on a '97 TJ today and wants to brag, and hopefully be reassured its a good buy.

'97 TJ
Jade Green
Soft Top
American Racing Rims with FAT tyres 325/50/15
1-2in Teraflex Lift
Chrome Bars
The ratio's have been changed as well, it is very low reving, does around 1600-1700rpm at 100kph. I hope this is good

It has very little offroad and cost her $15500 with RWC, it has also been in a magazine, this came with the car so she can brag to her friends. What do you think guys? I don't know much about Jeeps but it seemed to drive well and willbe good fun i hope. All she wanted was a TJ at least she will stop screaming in my ear every time one drives past.

Any other mods necessary? It won't do much offroad.
Is it a good buy?

Here are some pics

And if you read this Trav, don't tell anyone, she wants it to be a surprise

VERY nice, good price too.

I'm pretty sutre I know the car and it's been looked after fairly well.

Just wait untill summer then you'll have HEAPS O FUN ;)

With those revs sounds like the stock ratios, TJ's have a 3.07 ratio standard so makes them rev fairly low while crusing.

Have fun.

Thanks Lexx that is most reassuring

180,000km-around 20,000 a year, not low but not heaps either.

The mag says it has 3.73 ratio's but who knows

Cheers

If they are 3.73 then it must be an auto ;)

Always looking for people to go and have a latte with or maybe a Maccas wheeling session. Enjoy the the most accessorised vehicle in the world.

Tuffy, they could well be 3.73. We are just about to do an install of 3.73 into a manual for a customer, that ratio is great for 31's.

The 3.73 are a cheap ratio change over as you only have to replace the front hemishpere to suit the new ratios.

Did I mention I love the colour of your TJ, you don't see many that colour it was a 97 only colour.

The only accessory i'd be thinking about would probably be a new softtop as the 97' softop was an old design and would probably be getting a bit bad to use/look at. A new softop can make the vehicle feel brand new :D
