Shock question

guys,

2 types of shocks i could run.....

there is the normal standard Tube over tube type.... which is sorta the base piece and then the shaft comes out the top of it with another tube that slides over the ouside of the bottom peice.

then there is the tube and shaft, where the bottom peice that then has the shaft coming out the top has no outer sleev on it, and either has a boot or a seal there....

wat i want to know, is can u get out the grinder and cut the top outer sleeve off of a tube over tube shock so that its the same as the second one but then put a boot on it.

the reason y is i can get this type very cheap the right length and the only drama is its abit too wide at the top to fit up in the top of my guard..

any problems in doing this?

cheers

I've done exactly that with my front shocks cause they are off the rear of an 80 series cruiser and the outer sleeve was hitting the shock tower at full flex. :D

i recon you could cut the covers off i wouldnt run boots as they get full of crap etc and help your rig to rust
