I saw someone else had a shudder prob similar to mine...Put all new suspension in, was supposed to be 4"..measured at 6"..Was all good until I put my winch in and new steering damper...Now it starts shuddering at any speed above 60..then it stops as quick as it came..Scary shit when the gear stick is moving in time with the steering wheel...Suspect I got the wrong caster plates (got screwed/lied too).. Any ideas??? Cheers Dave

if there was no shakes before changing the damper, I would start there.
Put old steering damper on, try that

It could be a number of things or most probably a combination.
I'm no mechanic by any means but get someone to turn the steering wheel left to right a bit while you check the joints on your panhard rod, drag ling and the other rod. Can someone tell him how much movement there is suppose to be.
If you don't put adjustable panhard rods in it also pushes everything to one side putting more pressure on everything wearing parts quicker and differently.
Could be what will be written by someone else.

check how different your panhard angle is to your draglink. if it is different thats your problem. the fact you have added a winch etc all affects the harmonic frequency of the vehicle realitive to before the winch was added, causing constructive interference when the wheel occilates side to side. as you go over a bump the diff moves less than the steering causing "bump steer". this in turn causes an opposite but larger force as you swing the wheel to compensate and the wobble grows.
you should be able to drive without a steering dampner if it is setup up right. relying on a symptomatic cure is not ideal. fix the cause.
i dropped my panhard an it is sweet. nearly 8"lift too, and a five link.
the castor is also critical as the wheel swings like a shopping trolley if it is wrong (rotated to far clockwise when viewed from the drivers side).

Thanks for that guys...Ive got adjustable panhards...The front dropped about 25mm...re checked panhard was out by 12mm. That stopped alot of it (was un drivable 2 days later). Toe in was up the shit but it seems the caster is over corrected by 4 degrees. Gotta change caster plates.
Like someone has written it is an oscillation like a shopping trolley wheel so I hope it just that

What size tyres? piss the caster plates off, they will give too much caster for that lift.

Im only running 33s....285 anyway. the front has sunk heaps so you may be right...might just piss em off...Im told I should have about 3 deg correction...By my figuring Im over corrected by 4 deg...so that makes 7 deg correction
