has anyone supercharged a 3y hilux like some info as i'm about to do it to mine got a super charger from a 2ltr 6 cyl engine from a toyota if anyone has done it can you let mr know how you did it and how it went

Ive done it to a 4y, alot involved including converting to efi, I did it to be different, I am now getting around 105kw at the flywheel instead of 70kw

I didn't do the conversion a local 4X4 workshop did... The dude running it had no end of trouble with getting smooth power and reliability..
Cost a bundle for bugga all gain..
He ditched it and went Commo for less $$$

the y series came out in EFI as standard in some vechiles so that shouldn't be hard to sort out. EFI would be better as that means you can use a intercooler. if carby then suck through system would be easiest but you can't use intercooler. proper blow through carby's are not easy to find. only hassle is setting up the dissy.

mine was supercharged when i first bought it it was good top end but not down low and couldnt keep it running right so it was taken off and tossed

what type of supercharger did it have?

it is a toyota sc14 and going to put a 350 holley that is modified for a supercharger

sounds like a blow through setup. i'm rusty with the hollys but that sounds way to big and they are not good on a blow through setup.
