the tank in the rear drivers side panel is it only a vent or does it do more.

When you are on an extreme angle it acts as an overflow , ie the fuel will run up the vent into the tank relatively slowly so it doesn't spill out of the vent. or run forward into the carbon canister if there is one.
Trust me on this.

if it is the same tank as i had it holds about 70ltrs of fuel (handy in a range rover 3.5) and fills up in the rear pillar (mine now sits in pride of place in backyard) fills other tank by means of small tap under rear of car with body lift easy to find no body lift good luck if is not this type of tank who knows

I think he is talking about a small tank which holds about 2-3 litres, which fits between the inner and outer guards on a 2 door.
It has the main tank vent going into the bottom corner and the other vent from the top. thats all I can remember.
